I was skeptical about reading Twilight because of all of they hype, but the book itself was an easy read. It was interesting, yes. However, Bella is a poorly developed protagonist, with what I felt was somewhat of an odd personality change towards the end of the novel, not caused by any of the events leading up to it.
Edward and the Cullens family, however, are interesting characters, with much more depth than Bella, but as they are not the characters who's point of view is being used, the book was a bit frusterating. As I said before, the book was an easy read, but this could've been because of the way the plot seemed to be rushed.
All in all, the topic of vampires has been done to death, and there is no reason that this book is considered so great in comparison.
